Know the story
Collaboration with Citta.
We are excited to introduce our collaboration we have been working on with Citta!
Thoughtfully designed by Citta’s design team and bought to life by our talented team of carvers in Kenya. The olive wood range consists of round serving boards, serving spoons and utensils.

Each piece has been individually handcrafted from our Kenyan reclaimed olive wood, sourced from abandoned olive wood tree stumps that would have otherwise been discarded. The unique grain and texture of the Olive Wood makes each piece completely unique.

How did this collaboration with Asili come about, and why?
Eve and I are friends and I've been following her journey with Asili closely. I have been really interested with the materials that Asili use and the stories behind them. When the opportunity came up to work on a range with her, I jumped at the chance.
What was your role in the collaboration?
It was real team effort between our buying/ planning team, Asili and myself. I had been working on a salad server concept and Asili's olivewood seemed to be the perfect fit for this design. Together from there we expanded the range to include a range of spoons and utensils.
Has Citta worked on something like this partnership before?
We have worked on similar collaborations in the past but not too many. I feel like it is something we will do more in the future, it's it great to be able to work with like minded people and brands to create something that we may not usually get the chance to do.
Did you encounter any unexpected challenges during the collaboration?
My main concern with the range was that because they are hand carved the subtitles and finesse of the design would be lost, it was always going to be a balance between celebrating the hand carved nature but not looking too rustic. The first samples arrived and they were perfect, which just shows the quality of the craftsmanship of the carvers.
How do you feel about the final results of the collaboration?
As above... Very happy with the result, often your designs don’t always translate from concept to manufacturing but in this case they nailed it.
Is this something you'll be likely to be repeating in future?
Yes already plans to expand the olive wood range and are wanting to do some new designs with their soapstone, which is such and amazing material.
We hope you love the range!
